Red Palm Weevil (RPW) Rhynchophorus ferrugineus (Olivier) (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) known also as the Asian Palm Weevil or Indian Red Pam Weevil is indigenous to South and South East Asian Countries. It is one of the world’s major invasive pest species and attacks around 40 palm species worldwide. The most important host species of RPW are Date Palms, Coconut Palms, Oil Palms, Canary Island Palms and Washingtonia Palms.
